Point of Entry Policing- Quincy Center

On March 14, 2014 at approximately 10 PM Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at Quincy Center MBTA station. While there the officers observed a male, later identified as Timothy Gruchy, 50 of East Bridgewater, pass through the fare gates without paying his fare. Officers approached Gruchy for the purpose of issuing a citation however Gruchy furnished the officers with a false name and social security number. Officers ultimately ascertained Gruchy's true identity and discovered he had several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Waltham District Court for Failure to Stop for Police, Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension, Quincy District Court for Leaving the Scene Personal Injury, Operating after Suspension and Milford District Court for Operating a Unregistered Vehicle. Gruchy was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. He was also issued a citation for fare evasion.
