Dorchester man arrested for OUI

Daniel Kenney
On January, 4, 2014 at approximately 11:40 pm a cell phone caller contacted Transit Police stating his vehicle was stuck on the train tracks in Somerville near the BET Mystic train yard. Officers were dispatched and located a vehicle inside the Boston Engine Terminal (BET) Mystic train yard adjacent to the carhouse. Officers observed the vehicle was rocking back and forth on top of the commuter rail tracks but unable to dislodge from them. The officers approached the driver and inquired as to how he ended up inside the BET facility. As the operator, later identified as Daniel Kenney, 30 of Dorchester, spoke officers detected the odor of alcohol and other observations oftentimes associated with intoxication.

Officers requested Kenney submit to a series of field sobriety tests, subsequent to those tests officers formed the conclusion Kenney was impaired due to alcohol consumption and he was placed into custody for Operating a vehicle while Under the Influence of Liquor. Kenney was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process and is expected to be arraigned sometime today in Somerville District Court. It was unclear how Kenney ended up inside the train yard stuck on the tracks.
