Medical Emergency at Wollaston Station results in accident

On November 7, 2013 at approximately 10:25 am Transit Police officers from Area 3 received a radio call for a vehicle accident inside the MBTA Wollaston station parking lot. Responding TPD officers report the following preliminary information. A 78 year old female driver entered into the parking lot from Woodbine Street, upon entering it appears she may have suffered from a medical emergency and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle proceeded striking a pedestrian (male 57 years of age) and colliding into the entrance doors becoming wedged. Quincy Fire and EMS personnel also responded and provided emergency care to the driver and pedestrian. The driver was then transported to a local area hospital for treatment. It is unknown at this time the extent of her injuries or condition  of the pedestrian.
