Point of Entry Policing- Works !!

Gerard Arpin
On October 8, 2013 at approximately 7:45 a.m. Transit Police officers from Area 4 were on patrol at Mass. Avenue MBTA station when they observed a male, later identified as Gerard Arpin, 33 of Boston, fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Arpin for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest. Arpin was wanted in Boston Municipal Court for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Narcotic, Lowell District Court for 2 counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Shoplifting and Lawrence District Court for Malicious Destruction of Property and B&E Building during the Daytime. Arpin was taken into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.


Ramon Cortes
Later that same morning Transit Police officers from Area 3 were on patrol at Savin Hill MBTA station when they observed a male, later identified as Ramon Cortes, 48 of East Boston, fave evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Cortes for the purpose of issuing a citation. Now get this, Cortes furnishes a false name to the officer but provides his true social security number !! When the name and social did not match the officer investigated further and subsequnetly discovered Cortes was wanted in East Boston District Court for Indecent Exposure. Cortes was taken into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
