Man tries to outrun Police. In custody

Jesus Huertas
On October 15, 2013 at approximately 8:45 pm Transit Police officers from Area 4 were performing Point of Entry Policing at the Mass Ave MBTA station when they observed a male, later identified as Jesus Huertas, 32 of Roxbury fare evade by 'Piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Huertas for the purpose of issuing a citation. Officers subsequently discovered there was a warrant for Huertas' arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court-Central Division (BMC) for Shoplifting. As the officers attempted to place Huertas into custody he pulled his arms away and pushed off the officers and fled down the stairs and onto the platform. Huertas continued to flee out of the station through the rear gate to Camden Street. The officers pursued Huertas and eventually caught up to him placing him into custody. Huertas was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process and will be arraigned sometime today in BMC for Resisting Arrest and answer for the warrant as well.
