Jamaica Plain man arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery

On October 8, 2013 at approximately 7:45 p.m. Transit Police officers from Area 4 received a radio call for a report of a robbery at Forest Hills MBTA station. Upon arrival officers located the victim who informed them he was approached in the lobby area by a male who displayed what the victim believed to be a handgun and demanded the victim turn over his money. The victim fearing for his life fled and was briefly pursued before the assailant abandoned his attempt and fled the station towards the lower busway area. Transit Police officers located a male, later identified as William Ambroult, 40 of Jamaica Plain who fit the description provided by the victim and witnesses in the lower busway. Ambroult was positively identified as the assailant and was taken into custody for Attempted Armed Robbery and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. No weapon was found/located. Ambroult will be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
