Trespasser struck by inbound MBTA CR-Beverly

On July 1, 2013 at approximately 12:30pm Transit Police officers from Area 2 received a radio call for a possible person struck by an MBTA Commuter Rail train in Beverly, MA. Beverly Police, Fire and EMS also responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information; just south of Beverley Depot approximately at Cabot Street and Colon Street a male approximately in his 40's was trespassing on the right of way and was struck by an inbound  MBTA Commuter Rail train on track 2. The male was transported to Beverly Hospital after sustaining serious injuries and has been pronounced deceased. Transit Police detectives and the Essex County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
