Adult magazine + 2 warrants = Arrest

Transit Police/Paul Gerbrands
On June 29, 2013 at approximately 11:50am Transit Police officers from Area 1 were at MBTA South Station when they were alerted to a male, later identified as Paul Gerbrands, 27 of Boston, who had just stolen an item from Martin's News Convenience store. The on duty clerk from Martin's News informed officers Gerbrands stuffed a magazine in his shirt and fled from the store. Officers quickly caught up to Gerbrands who removed the magazine from within his pants and tossed it on the ground. Anyone care to guess what kind of magazine it was ???........ Yes..... an adult men's magazine valued at 11.99 Gerbrands asked officers to let him go because he "gave it back already". In addition to the theft of the adult magazine Gerbrands also had 2 active warrants for his arrest for Shoplifting issued from South Boston District Court and Trespassing issued from Boston Municipal Court.

The magazine was returned to the store clerk and Gerbrands was returned to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Gerbrands is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court sometime on Monday July 1, 2013.
