3rd time Fare Evader arrested

On January 8th, 2013 at approximately 11:15 a.m. Transit Police officers assigned to Area 2 were on patrol at Central Sq. MBTA station when their attention was drawn to a male and female who entered through the fare gates without paying. Officers approached both parties for the purpose of issuing a citation. A subsequent investigation revealed the male, later identified as Christopher Reed, 26, of Cambridge, MA. had an outstanding warrant in existence for his arrest issued from Cambridge District Court for Violation of the Commonwealth's drug laws. Additionally, as it turns out Reed was cited on two previous ocassions for fare evasion on the MBTA. Reed was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to Transit Police HQ and issued a Fare Evasion citation (3rd offence). His female companion was also cited for fare evasion and released.

On January 8th, 2013 at approximately 7:45 a.m. Transit Police officers assigned to Area 1 were on patrol at MBTA South Station Commuter Rail when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Andrew Frost, 31, of Boston, MA. in the area of Track 1. Frost was smoking from a cigarette in close proximity to a "No Smoking" sign. Officers approached Frost for the purpose of issuing a smoking citation and discovered he was wanted out of Falmouth District Court and Wareham District Court for Violation of the Commonwealth's drug laws.  Frost was taken into custody for the warrants and transported to Transit Police HQ for the booking process. Frost was issued a citation for smoking.
